1943 vintage Birks Challenger pocket watch in beautiful overall condition featuring a bright silver dial with gold Arabic numerals and a large sub-seconds dial at 6 o’clock. Housed in a 10 karat gold filled case and approximately American standard 14 size, this classic 1940s timepiece has strong vintage presence and timeless styling. The back of the case is custom hand engraved as a presentation piece commemorating 35 years of service at Canadian Westinghouse Company, presented October 7, 1943, adding historical character and provenance. The watch winds, sets and appears to run well, however service history is unknown and it will likely benefit from servicing. Included is a beautiful presentation stand allowing it to be displayed and used as a desk clock. While there is no formal appraisal, we estimate the appraised value at approximately $300. This is a donated piece being sold as is, no reserve, no sales tax, no buyer’s premium — 100% of the proceeds go directly to the charities.
